"Adversity has the effect of eliciting talents, which, in prosperous circumstances, would have lain dormant.”  - Horace

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it.  Boldness has genius, power, and magic in it.”  - Goethe

"To every man there comes in his lifetime that special moment when he is figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered a chance to do a very special thing, unique to him and fitted to his talents.  What a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared or unqualified for the work which would be his finest hour.”  - Winston Churchill

"You have not done enough; you have never done enough so long as it is still possible that you have something of value to contribute." Dac Hammarskjold

Leadership Tip!
Duke Basketball Coach Mike Krzyzewski on leadership…. “Talent is important. But the single most important ingredient after you get the talent is internal leadership. It's not the coaches as much as one single person or people on the team who set higher standards than that team would normally set for itself..."  Courtesy of Win the Tip! Leadership Tip!

In Pat Summitt’s book titled, “Reach for the Summit,” she discusses how to handle success.  Coach Summitt states, “The reason success is so hard to duplicate is because we tend to stop doing the disciplined things that made us successful in the first place.  We lose our focus.  Really, success is not overcomplicated.  The truth is it’s a simple matter of focus.  A lot of people succeed once but never understand why.  They don’t examine what they did right or wrong.  It’s important to define your method and know what you did right, so you can reemphasize it.”  Please visit www.winthetip.org to discover more book titles that Win the Tip! members are reading.
